East German Sport and Technology Association GST Winter Cap with Flaps

Original, vintage cold weather hats from the former German Democratic Republic (DDR). The East German Sport and Technology Association was called the Gesellschaft für Sport und Technik - GST. These feature a unique GST insignia. We are offering 3 options for the GST hats in male and female versions:

1. Gray Wooly material for Males (like the NVA Conscript). These have the full flaps that fold down and secure under the chin.

2. Blue material for Males. These have the full flaps that fold down and secure under the chin.

3. Blue material for Females. These flaps only fold down over the ears.

Officially, the GST was established to structure the free time of young people interested in sports and technology in group activities, provide the required technical equipment (for example, motorcycles, aircraft, radios), cultivate and support technical sport disciplines, and arrange for events like motor and shooting competitions. The association also contributed to the militarization of East German society by organizing together with the National People's Army, conducting pre-military training in schools, universities and workplaces.
