Discovered in the dungeon of an Irish castle, these brand new backpacks are the same as those carried on D-Day by Montgomery's British Expeditionary Force assault troops.

Made with an extremely resilient cotton hopsack fabric, this 17" H x 12½2" W x 5"D pack was manufactured from 1940-1943 and issued as a daypack for transporting rations and gear.
Two detachable shoulder straps attach to sturdy reinforced web loops at top and bottom.
Solid brass fixtures.
Buckle-down top flap.
Authenticated by date stamp and the "broad arrow" proof mark which, since the 14th century, has been used by the British Crown to identify its property. This is a rare artifact of WWII militaria.

Condition: Very good to excellent condition. These may have brass or black metal hardware.

Color: Khaki.
